Berkeley Symphony is looking for 4 people with acting experiencing to work at the Benefit Gala Dinner and Auction. The annual gala is their biggest event of the year and contributes greatly to their annual fundraising goals. This celebration of composers and musicians will support their mission to commission and perform new music as well as their award-winning Music in the Schools program.

Mugwumpin, San Francisco’s premiere ensemble-created theatre and performance company, is seeking excited and talented fellows for their 2014 performance and creation season. Fellows will be able both to learn about managing a small, innovative company and to experience Mugwumpin’s creative process and producing model.
They are seeking fellows for the following positions:
Arts Administration
Stage Management
These positions vary in time commitment but average 10-20 hours per week and can be flexible regarding a work or class schedule. They will be offering a modest stipend, depending on experience.

Professor Shannon Jackson Receives Guggenheim Fellowship in Humanities

The Guggenheim Memorial Foundation has awarded Professor Shannon Jackson a 2014/15 Humanities Fellowship in the area of Theater Arts.
Jackson is the Richard and Rhoda Goldman Professor of Rhetoric and of Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies as well as Director of the Arts Research Center at UC Berkeley. She is a scholar whose research and public service focus primarily on facilitating cross-arts dialogue and experimentation, with an eye toward exploring and advancing the role of the arts in projects of social change. She serves as a board member of Berkeley Art Museum/Pacific Film Archive, Cal Performances, University of California Institute for Research in the Arts, Berkeley Center for New Media, and English Institute.

LEVYdance is seeking highly skilled, adventurous dancers to join the company for a world premiere the week of June 23-29 . Applicants should have a strong foundation in both ballet and contemporary techniques, as well as a distinctly personal style and aesthetic.
LEVYdance’s culture and creative process are founded on collaboration, integrity, courage, and excellence. The company creates immersive works that redefine the relationship between audience and performer. Interested dancers should have a desire for self-investigation through physical and emotional risk-taking that is playful, intimate, and transformative.

California Shakespeare Theatre is looking for volunteer ushers.
Each of the 90+ outdoor summer performances require the help of up to 8 volunteer ushers to make sure all goes smoothly. Volunteer ushers distribute programs, help with seating, assist with Will Call ticketing, handle cash, and do a little general site upkeep after each performance. Each volunteer usher receives a ticket to see that night’s performance; they encourage you to invite friends to usher with you and make it a fun night for everyone. Their 2014 season consists of: A Raisin in the Sun , Comedy of Errors , Pygmalion , and A Midsummers Night’s Dream .

The Cutting Ball Theater is seeking a stage manager for their upcoming Fall 2014 production, starting beginning of August 2014 through mid-December. The SM will be the primary stage manager for CBT’s Fall production and will supervise and be assisted by an Assistant Stage Manager.
Qualifications required: Prospective candidates must have at least 2 years of experience as a Stage Manager in a professional theater environment and preferably hold a bachelor degree. Good communications skills and capacity to work in a fast paced environment are a must. Ideal candidate will be responsible, pro-active, a good problem solver and able to multitask. Previous experience managing a team a plus.
