Wettervorhersage, Navigation oder Kommunikation?viele Funktionen von Satelliten prägen unseren Alltag und müssen zuverlässig funktionieren. Um diesen und weiteren Herausforderungen der unbemannten Raumfahrt besser zu begegnen, haben 13 Fraunhofer-Institute nun ihr Know-how in der Allianz Space gebündelt. Auf der Messe ILA Berlin Air Show vom 20. bis 25. Mai (Halle 4, Stand 4202) zeigen sie erstmals eine Software, die Crashs von Weltraumschrott mit Satelliten simuliert sowie Mikrokühlsysteme für elektronische Bauteile.

The second annual Queerness and Games Conference (QGCon), hosted at UC Berkeley on October 25 and October 26, 2014, is happy to invite proposals for conference sessions now through June 15 . Applicants will be notified by July 15 . To submit, see instructions below.
Now in its second year, QGCon is a free, weekend-long, interdisciplinary event. The goal of QGCon is to create an open and inclusive environment for discussing the intersection of video games and LGBTQ issues, however you define them. QGCon brings together academics and game developers to foster dialogues that break traditional disciplinary boundaries. Selected interns will learn valuable skills in nonprofit arts administration, program support, and teaching assistance. ?NOW: In the Wings on a World Stage? takes us along with twenty British and American actors on a whirlwind ten month international tour of ?Richard III,? starring Kevin Spacey in the title role, and directed by Sam Mendes. The film follows Mendes? Bridge Project?the first transatlantic theatre company?as the play takes shape and unfolds for us in a seamless tapestry between the backstage world to the on stage production, as it travels through nine cities. As we discover Spacey?s revelatory performance as the power-mad Richard destroying his family and everyone in his path, we also see how Sam and Kevin demonstrate the leadership required to unify and bring the best out of a group of different actors, with different techniques and experiences.
The film offers us a privileged look at the process of putting a play together, and plunges us into the hustle and bustle of the goings-on behind the curtain. This intimacy is enhanced by our introduction to every member of the company, ...

Die Wanderausstellung»Ideen 2020«nimmt den Besucher mit auf einen multimedialen Rundgang durch die Welt von morgen. Sie zeigt, wie wir vielleicht künftig leben, wohnen, uns fortbewegen oder kommunizieren. Vom 12. bis zum 27. Mai 2014 ist sie im Münchner Fraunhofer-Haus zu sehen.

An Bord des Ausstellungsschiffs MS Wissenschaft sind dieses Jahr wieder zwei spannende Fraunhofer-Projekte mit dabei: An einem Demonstrator für Web Tracking können Besucher sehen, wer beim Surfen im Internet heimlich mitliest. Das Multitouch-Laborbuch MErLiN, das Wissenschaftlern die Dokumentation ihrer Arbeit erleichtert, lädt zum Experimentieren ein. Am 11. Mai legt das Schiff in Berlin ab.
